“Demons†is a song about Hayley seeking forgiveness for her inner demons. This spooky-sounding song was released on October 11, 2019 — just in time for Halloween. It was released with a lyric video, which also shows ominous cartoons. The demons — which are an important recurring theme in this song, are a metaphor for the problems Hayley has faced; as explained on an Instagram post: I find myself constantly discovering who I am while battling new demons. […] Maybe we have a monster inside our head trying to distract us. Maybe we are always looking for a reason to run. Whatever it may be, this internal struggle is what makes us complex, special beings who deserve to find strength. The song is Hayley’s first released single after she announced her fourth EP, I’m Too Sensitive For This Shit, which will be about embracing all sorts of feelings, even the bad.
