About SOMEONE'S SOMEONE

K-Pop boy band Monsta X are back today (Oct. 4) with their new single “Someone’s Someone,” a breezy future-pop song full of harmonious melodies, a snapping choral refrain, and addictive beat drops. The act’s latest English-language song, it comes a few weeks after the release of “Love U” and “Who Do U Love.” Like those other recent releases, it puts the focus on the group's sleek vocals, and shifts them away from the high-energy dance singles they typically release in Korean. Throughout the new song, the septet spends its time ruminating on the desire to be “Someone’s Someone,” or a person another can’t live without. Monsta X, which released their first single “Trespass” in 2015 and has spent the last few years growing in popularity, recently appeared at the iHeart Radio Music Festival and Life is Beautiful Festival, and also performed on Ellen. Earlier this year, they became the second-ever K-pop group to enter the Pop Songs Airplay chart showing their traction in the U.S. market as a rising crossover act coming out of the South Korean music scene.
