It was first released on November 21, 2018, as the second single from the soundtrack by Interscope Records. The song was written by Lady Gaga, Natalie Hemby, Hillary Lindsey, and Lori McKenna, and produced by Dave Cobb and Lady Gaga.

It has received a positive critical reception and has reached the top of the record chart in Iceland, and the top ten in Belgium (Flanders), Hungary, Ireland, Norway, Portugal, Scotland, Sweden and Switzerland, the digital charts of Luxembourg, Slovakia and the combined European chart. The track has also reached the top twenty in Belgium (Wallonia), Denmark, Estonia, France, Malaysia, and on the digital chart of Czech Republic. Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta was born on March 28, 1986, at the Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan, New York City, to a Catholic family with Italian and French Canadian roots.
